Itinerary

Arrive at Paro International Airport and meet your guide and driver. Drive to Thimphu, Bhutan’s capital city, with a stop at Tachog Lhakhang and its traditional iron chain bridge. Upon arrival in Thimphu, visit Buddha Dordenma, one of Bhutan’s most iconic landmarks, overlooking the valley.

Discover the cultural and spiritual heart of Bhutan with visits to the National Memorial Chorten, Simply Bhutan, and the National Institute for Zorig Chusum, where you can experience Bhutan’s traditional arts and crafts. Continue to Tashichho Dzong, the impressive fortress and administrative center of Bhutan.

Travel through the scenic mountain road to Punakha. Stop at Dochula Pass (3,100 m) to admire the 108 Druk Wangyal Chortens and, weather permitting, panoramic Himalayan views. Continue to Chimi Lhakhang, walking through beautiful rice fields to this historic temple associated with Lama Drukpa Kuenley.

Explore the magnificent Punakha Dzong, located at the confluence of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers. Walk across the colorful Punakha Suspension Bridge and enjoy the surrounding valley views. Later, take a scenic hike to Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten, a beautiful stupa surrounded by rice terraces.

Travel toward the peaceful Phobjikha Valley, stopping at Wangduephodrang Dzong along the way. Continue into the high-altitude valley and visit Gangtey Monastery, an important Nyingma Buddhist monastery. Explore the surrounding nature trails and visit the Black-Necked Crane Centre to learn about the valley’s famous winter visitors.

Begin the scenic journey back toward Paro, passing through Bhutan’s spectacular mountain landscapes and Dochula Pass. Upon arrival in Paro, visit Ta Dzong (National Museum of Bhutan), a historic watchtower displaying collections of Bhutanese art, culture, and heritage.

Embark on the unforgettable hike to Paro Taktsang (Tiger’s Nest Monastery), one of Bhutan’s most sacred and iconic landmarks. The round-trip hike takes approximately 4–5 hours. After the hike, visit Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan’s oldest and most revered temples.

Visit the historic Drukgyel Dzong, with spectacular views of the surrounding mountains on a clear day. In the afternoon, enjoy a traditional Bhutanese hot stone bath, a relaxing cultural experience. Spend your final evening exploring Paro’s main street and browsing local handicrafts and souvenirs.

After breakfast, transfer to Paro International Airport for your onward flight. Bid farewell to Bhutan with unforgettable memories of its landscapes, culture, monasteries, and warm hospitality.
